You will need a valid 2025-26 USA Hockey Number in order to register.

The TIER ONE NUGS Hockey Club is the premier Pre/Post hockey program for high school–age players from southwest Ohio.

Led by experienced coaches Tony Morris (University of Dayton Head Coach) and Lee McClure (Former Professional Hockey Player & Skill Development), the NUGS offer players the opportunity to train under elite instruction through a proven and modern development model. Practices are high-tempo and built around innovative drills and competitive game situations designed to develop complete hockey players—focusing on skills that translate directly to in-game performance and moving beyond outdated methods.

For the upcoming season, the NUGS will field teams at both the 18U and 16U levels. Tony Morris will serve as Head Coach of the 18U team, while Lee McClure will lead the 16U team as Head Coach. Both teams will also have access to Tier One Coaching during practices, further enhancing the player development experience.

The season runs from the second week of August through mid-October, with each team also competing in one postseason tournament in March.

*We plan to host one 16U and one 18U team but may combine them into one competitive team based upon tryout numbers & competitiveness. Our focus is on providing the right environment for development, not just filling rosters.

Home and away jerseys and one set of socks ARE INCLUDED for all teams. Jerseys are player-owned and may be used season to season.

  • We encourage players to wear their team helmets/gloves/pants to represent their schools!

  • One Away Jersey, One Home Jersey, and one set of hockey socks

Post-Season

  • March 25-29 – 🏆 National Championships – 16U Irvine, CA & 18U West Chester, PA OR TBD
